Bill O’Reilly

August 30th, 2006 · 1 Comment · Politics

This post, containing video footage, is pretty awesome. I’ve started listening to Bill O’Reilly’s No Spin Zone once in a while on 96.9 FM Talk; not because I agree with him at all, but because I find his world view both funny and scary at the same time. The right-wing radio celebrity really does live in a separate reality. He often gets basic facts plain wrong, and it makes him sound like an idiot. The scary part is that lots of Americans love the guy and think he’s spot on. A caller on the show last week actually said that we should, “nuke those towel-wearing bastards in Syria.” Keeee-riste. Too bad he didn’t read Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them.

I personally don’t care what political point of view a person preaches, so long as it’s informed. There are plenty of very intelligent people on both sides of the spectrum in the US, and I find it sad that uninformed men such as ill O’Reilly end up capturing a great deal of American attention. It really is hurting this country.

Thanks for the link to my post/blog. Great write up, by the way.

I completely agree that people should be informed. Above that, however, I think people should show the respect they wish to receive. O’Reilly doesn’t do that. I respect his opinion, although I don’t agree with much that he says. What I find so upsetting about O’Reilly is his pompous and self-righteous attitude. For someone that had to pay $60M to make a sexual harassment lawsuit go away, he has a pretty big chip on his shoulder.

Thanks again. I hope you don’t mind that I added a link to your blog in mine. Great blog name!
